Why it matters

Four straight election wins is a democratic feat few European leaders can claim. Kept growth at 4%+ in 2025 while the reduced 2026 majority signals voter fatigue.
GDP grew 4.3% year-on-year in Q1 2026; the central bank projects 3.7% for the year after 4% in 2025. The island economy keeps outperforming.
Delivered prosperity and democratic continuity; the accountability deficit on corruption is the stain. Voters noticed — hence the smaller majority.
High-income EU economy; the gaming, finance and maritime mix delivers. Overdevelopment pressures are the side effect.
