Career

I have spent my career where the Moroccan consumer actually lives: on the shop floor. Six years as a retail manager with Inditex in Casablanca taught me what no market report can — how people spend when money is tight, what they reach for, and what they leave on the shelf. Before that, three years as a sales manager with Groupe COSUMAR showed me the other end of the chain: how product moves from factory to family table.

What shaped my lens: the conviction that the economy is not what ministers announce — it is what shoppers decide. Africa’s rising middle class is the century’s biggest consumer story, and I write it from inside the stores where it happens.

Based in Casablanca, I cover Moroccan business, African retail, and consumer markets.
