Why it matters

Inherited an IMF program and debt crisis; stabilized the cedi in 2025 and kept the $3bn IMF program on track; launched the 24-hour economy policy.
Recovering from the 2022 debt default; IMF program restored confidence; gold and cocoa revenues strong in 2025.
Free SHS legacy expanded education access; 24-hour economy promises jobs, but delivery is early-stage.
Positions Ghana as West Africa's democratic anchor — the rare country where power changes hands cleanly and often.
