Andy Burnham

Prime Minister — United Kingdom

Country momentum +20 — Quarterly momentum: the Bureau's read on the country's trajectory over the last quarter, from −10 (deteriorating fast) to +10 (accelerating).

• Prime minister since July 2026 — a fresh mandate from Labour's succession, judgment still reserved.
• Inherited stagnation: ~1% growth, 3.6% inflation; the October Budget will say whether the mandate pays.
• Seeks an EU reset — "Brexit has done more harm than good" — with a UK-EU summit in November.
• The honest line: too early for a record — the succession is smooth, the economics are not yet written.
