Country momentum 0 — Quarterly momentum: the Bureau's read on the country's trajectory over the last quarter, from −10 (deteriorating fast) to +10 (accelerating).

• Oversaw a decade of ~7% average growth, Abidjan's transformation, and cocoa-sector reform; kept Ivory Coast francophone West Africa's economic engine.
• World's top cocoa producer; diversified into oil, gold, and services; growth resilient around 6% despite global shocks.
• 2025 election excluded major opponents (Gbagbo, Thiam barred); security forces cracked down on protests; press self-censorship common.
• Core French and Western ally (French bases drawn down 2025); ECOWAS heavyweight; strong ties with the US, EU, and Gulf investors.
