Why it matters

Delivered a successful EU Council presidency in H1 2026. Keeps growth near 4% with employment at 81.3% — the economy is the administration's calling card.
Growth of about 4% in 2026 outpaces the eurozone by a wide margin, on tourism, services and investment. Public debt is down to 50–55% of GDP.
Free democracy; migration management and the unresolved displacement of 1974 are the persistent rights issues. No systemic violations in the south.
High-income EU economy; employment at 81.3% spreads the gains. The north-south divide caps the island's full potential.
