Why it matters

Delivered NATO membership (2024) — the historic achievement of his term. Raised the 2026 growth forecast to 2.5% in August 2026, but voters judged the domestic record and fired him.
The government raised the 2026 growth forecast to 2.5% in August 2026 (EU: 1.8%, OECD: 1.9%). Tax cuts on fuel, reduced food VAT and in-work credits supported demand.

Among the world's most prosperous and equal societies. The macro picture is strong; the distribution of safety is not.
