Why it matters

Delivered euro and Schengen entry in 2023 — the twin crowning achievements. Since then the record is defensive: surviving the Beroš corruption scandal and ~100,000-strong protests demanding early elections.
The central bank sees 2.4% growth in 2026, but Q2 came in at just 1.7% year-on-year — the weakest since Q4 2020. Inflation runs near 4.9%.
A decade of stability curdling into entrenchment. The right thing now would be renewal — starting with himself.
NATO, EU and eurozone member. Full institutional integration — the alliance file is complete.
