Why it matters

Steered Andorra to a Fitch A- rating affirmation in September 2026 with low debt and a huge net creditor position. The EU Association Agreement remains unratified, his unfinished business.
Fitch sees growth moderating to about 2.0% in 2026 after 3.9% in 2025, driven by financial services and construction. Headline inflation ran at 4.0% in H1 2026 on imported energy costs.
Prudent, low-drama governance that kept debt near 30% of GDP and the current account in large surplus. The stalled EU agreement is the one strategic gap.
Per capita income was €41,134 in 2023, among the highest in Europe. The net international investment position stood at 371% of GDP at end-2025.
